Maharajah's College of Pharmacy offered Bachelor of Pharmacy (Degree Cource) the Course of B-Pharmacy duration is four (4) year bachelor's programmes in pharmacy affiliated to Andhar University, Visakhapatnam and recognized by AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi with an intake of 60 seats.

REGULATIONS

Minimum qualification for admission to the course:

  • Candidates who have passed (10+2) examination or an equivalent examination (EAMCET) of any approved Board or university with not less than 50% marks.
  • Candidates who have passed, D. Pharm course with not less than 50% aggregate, from an institution, approved by Pharmacy Council of India and passed in E-CET examination shall be eligible to this course and shall be admitted directly to II B. Pharm course.

Duration of the Course:

The course of study for B.Pharm shall extend over a period of four academic years and three academic years for those admitted to second B. Pharm directly. The curricula and syllabi for the course shall be prescribed from time to time.

Medium of Instruction and Examinations:

Medium of Instruction and Examination shall be English.

Working Days in the Academic Year:

Each academic year shall consist of not less than 200 working days.or each semester shall consist of not less than 75 working days.

Attendance and Progress :

A candidate is required to put in at least 75% attendance in theory and practical subjects separately. The candidate shall complete the prescribed course satisfactorily to be eligible to appear for the respective examinations.

Course of study:

The course of study of B.Pharmacy I, II, III and IV year shall include the respective Theory & Practical subjects. The number of hours to be devoted to each theory is 60 (sixty) hrs. and practical subject is 90 (Ninty) hrs.

Academic Work:

A regular record of attendance both in Theory and Practical shall be maintained by the teaching staff of respective subjects.

Internal Assessment Marks :

  • Theory : Two sessional examinations evenly spread during the academic year/semester shall be conducted by the constituent colleges. The average marks of the best two examinations shall be computed out of a maximum of 20 marks and shall constitute the sessional award in theory.
  • Practical :Students are expected to perform the experiment listed in the respective syllabus. The number of experiments is also listed. Marks shall be awarded out of a maximum of 20 to each of the practical exercise and an average of those shall be computed out of maximum of 10 marks.
    While awarding the sessional marks for practical experiments, the following considerations should be taken into account.
    • Preparation of the candidate..
    • Manipulative skills.
    • Results of the experiment.
    • Knowledge of the experiment
    • Viva voce pertaining to the experiments only

The college shall maintain the sessional books of the students and the record of sessional award of the students. A regular record of both theory and practical class work and sessional examinations conducted in an institution imparting the course shall be maintained for each student in the institution.

Conditions under which candidates are permitted to appear for annual university examination

The candidates are required to score a minimum of 50% marks in each of the subjects (Theory and practicals separately) in the sessional examination to be eligible to appear for annual university examination in the respective subject.

University Examinations

  • Every year/semester will have term end examination for 80 (Eighty) Marks (theory and practical).
  • The student performance will be awarded in grades by the university.

Diploma of Pharmacy

Duration : 2 Years

Maharajah's College of Pharmacy offered Diploma Course(D-Pharmacy). This Course Contains two (2) year full time diploma programme in pharmacy which is recognized by Government of Andhra Pradesh and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi with an intake of 60 seats.

Programme Objective:

A programme specifically designed to create professionals who will make a mark in the pharmaceutical industry. On completion of the programme the students can get registration as pharmacist and can run their own medical shops. The D.Pharm course is a two years course for which the Directorate of Medical Education, conducts the qualifying examinations. In this course, the students are well equipped and trained to prepare and dispense the pharmaceutical dosage forms. They also receive in-plant training in government hospitals at the headquarters through which the communication skill with the patients and the confidence towards the profession are improved significantly.

Eligibility:

Minimum qualification for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy :

  1. Intermediate examination in Science
  2. 10+2 examination (academic stream) in Science, with Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  3. Pre-degree examination
  4. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examination.

Provided that there shall be reservation of seats for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidate in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Govt./ State Govt./ Union Territory administration as the case may be from time to time.

Eligibility Certificate:

Candidates, who have not passed their 10+2 examination from the AP Board of Intermediate, need to produce the certificate and the Mark sheet of the examination given by them.

Programme Duration:

The duration of the course is of 2 years with each academic year spread over not less than 180 working days in addition to 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months.

Selection Procedure:

Entrance on the basis of 10+2 marks or equivalent examination by Govt. Polytechnic College.

Application Form:

The application form is available at the Maharajah's College of Pharmacy for the first year admission to the Diploma course in Pharmacy on payment of prescribed application form fees. The application form duly completed along with the required documents is to be submitted to the Institute office within 10 days.

The above certificates should be duly attested by the Principal of the School or Gazette Officer of the State, Central Govt./ Sub-Division Magistrate or any other authority who is authorized to attest the certificates.

Programme Fee:

The yearly fees for Diploma course in Pharmacy will be prescribed by the Director of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The students will have to pay the difference in the fees paid at the time of admission and that announced/fixed by the SSS even at a later date. The refund of fees shall be as per the direction of the Government.

Placements:

We feel proud to state that our students get immediate placements on completion of their second year annual exam. We provide them campus interview. Placement information is displayed on the notice board from time to time.
